Marc Cohen
Sourcewater Protection Specialist

Marc began his professional career as a construction field engineer for Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation and moved into planning and scheduling for both construction and engineering design work. His second career began when he started working as a computer systems administrator at the University of Massachusetts while he pursued a graduate degree in Environmental Engineering. Along the way Marc has done construction project management consulting and directed a large information technology group at UMass. He has been with Atlantic States since Fall of 2004.

Marc's environmental awareness began while growing up in a house with a limited capacity well (water is precious) and a septic system that failed (it doesn't just "go away" when you flush). Over the years Marc has maintained a connection to environmental protection: working at a sewage treatment plant in Connecticut, serving four years on a Conservation Commission, and serving six years on a Zoning Board of Appeals.

Marc has a BS in Applied Science and Technology from Charter Oak State College and an MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
